SA Dagger [Early Version] by F. & A. Helbig GAEFLER Steinbach
This early SA [Sturmabteilung] Dagger is in EXC condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37,7 cm. The Dagger has the maker mark on the blade: F. & A. Helbig GAEFLER Steinbach.
Grip: Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light wear. Reddish-brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows light surface wear and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset.
Blade: The blade is a real beauty, in near mint condition with crossgrain. The dark motto is perfectly etched and retains 100% of the original background darkening. The reverse ricasso of the blade has the interesting trademark of the F. & A. Helbig Steinbach firm, in a circle with a GAEFLER TM. The blade shoulders perfectly meet the lower crossguard contour.
Scabbard: The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has dark brown paint, which still appears to all be in place. The nickel scabbard mounts are also in fine condition. These mounts are retained by all four original nickel screws.
