SA Dagger [Early Version] by Willh. Kober & Co. Suhl

This SA [Sturmabteilung] Kober Dagger in EXC+ condition. Model 1933. The total length is 37.2 cm. Early Nickel fittings, lower guard with "Th" stamp. The Dagger has very rare maker mark on the blade: Willh. Kober & Co., Suhl.

Grip: The SA runes button is nicely placed and has excellent enamel, while the nickel grip eagle is fully detailed throughout. It is the style with the upward pointing beak. The crossguards are in the Suhl style, with the characteristic upward pointing quillon ends on the lower guard. The lower guard is gruppe marked “Th”.

Blade: The SA motto is dark. The reverse ricasso is etched with the firm's name and location, “Wilh. Kober & Co. Suhl” contained with ovals. Inside a logo in the form the the mythical Greek centaur, set above the start-up date “Gegr. 1874”.

Scabbard: The mounts are also choice through to the lower ball. They exactly match the patination of the crossguards, and are retained by four nickel screws.
